Sports Notebook for Sept. 10
East Ridge girls soccer remains unbeaten; Royals and Raptors run at Minneart Invite.
There were a number of local teams competing on Thursday, both home and away, indoors and outdoors.
ERHS Girls Soccer
The tenth-ranked East Ridge girls soccer team improved to 6-0 on the season following a 2-1 victory at Roseville. Individual statistics were not available. The Raptors host Mahtomedi in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at East Ridge.
WHS Volleyball
The Woodbury volleyball team fell to 3-2 on the season following a four-game loss (25-23, 17-25, 21-25, 23-25) at Blaine. Individual statistics were not available. The Royals compete in the Molten Southwest Minnesota Challenge in Marshall this weekend.
WHS/ERHS Cross-Country
Both the East Ridge and the Woodbury girls and boys cross-country teams competed in the Minneart Invitational at St. Croix Bluffs Park.
The Raptors' Bailey Ness won the girls event, with the Royals' Lauren Domski placing third. The Woodbury girls took third, with the boys coming in fifth. Full statistics were not currently available.
NLA Volleyball
The New Life Academy volleyball team fell in four games (23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 12-25) at Providence Academy in its Minnesota Christian Athletic Association opener. Individual statistics were not available. The Eagles take part in the Visitation Invitational this weekend.
ERHS Swim/Dive
The East Ridge girls swimming and diving team defeated Forest Lake, 106-72. Diver Bailee Meyer placed first off the 1-meter board with a score of 219, while Jenna Karrow came in fourth with a 188. Swim results were not available.
Results for the Woodbury girls tennis team's match at Park were not currently available.
