MnDOT: I-494 work near complete
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said completion of the five-month project is set for Aug. 27.
The major Interstate 494 construction project in Woodbury is nearly done.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Wednesday that completion of the five-month project is set for Aug. 27.
Crews since April have worked on I-494 from Interstate 94 to south of Lake Road. They expanded the freeway in each direction, poured new concrete and made ramp improvements. The interstate will be three continuous lanes in each direction, south of I-94 to the Wakota Bridge.
All that remains to be completed on I-494 is final cleanup, MnDOT said.
Motorists should not breathe a full sigh of relief yet, though. Work will continue into the fall on Interstate 694, north of I-94. That work has affected traffic on I-494.
