A Cottage Grove woman is among recipients of this year’s Washington County child care provider awards.

Anita Larson was recognized at the Washington County Board meeting Tuesday as a family child care provider of the year.

The mother who nominated Larson for the award said she looks to Larson for parenting advice because of the trust she has in her. Also, the parent said, the kids cared for by Larson are enthusiastic to be with her because she provides an exciting learning environment.

Larson has been licensed for 18 years.

Awards also went to: Jane Dicken of Stillwater, family child care provider of the year; Priscilla Lalime, Oakdale Head Start Center, caregiver of the year; Dorann Sinclair, Paidea Child Development Center in Oakdale, caregiver of the year.

“They have had a positive impact on the lives of children,” Suzanne Pollack, Washington County child care licensing supervisor, said of the four winners.
