Woodbury’s Pearls are tops at nationals

Woodbury Dance Center competition line takes first place at "Quest for the Best."

The Woodbury Dance Center competition lines attended the StarQuest World Finals at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. from July 5-10.

The “Pearls” competition line, consisting of six- and seven-year-olds, competed in the Petite Large Group division for tap and jazz, with the jazz dance scoring a high gold and the tap dance scored platinum.

Since the Pearls scored in the top two for their division for their tap dance, they were invited to compete in the “Quest for the Best” championship on Saturday, July 10.

The Pearls tap routine, titled “Work,” was awarded first place in the Petite Large Group division.

Other lines from WDC also placed in the top-five for their respective divisions

The “Rubies,” competing in the Petite Large group division, placed second for its jazz routine and fourth for its tap routine.

The “Sapphires,” competing in the Junior Large Group division, placed fourth for its jazz routine.
