Community comes together at Woodbury Days

An estimated 25,000 people visited Ojibway Park last year for the city’s annual festival, Woodbury Days.

The Woodbury Days Council, a volunteer group that meets monthly, organizes the event.

Activities take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the festival weekend, which is Aug. 27-29, 2010. Community entertainment, arts and crafts, food concessions and a business fair are popular features.

For kids, there are games, a petting zoo/pony rides, a bingo tent and a carnival midway.

Attendees can enjoy foods from Woodbury restaurants and other vendors who choose to donate a portion of their profits throughout the weekend at the Taste of Woodbury.

On Saturday, bicyclists can ride from 10 to 60 miles in the annual bike ride.

Two major events traditionally occur on Sunday.

The Woodbury Country Mile, typically attracting more than 1,000 runners and sponsored by the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, takes place early in the morning.

The Grande Parade rolls through Woodbury in the early afternoon. Marching bands, floats, clowns and other acts create an afternoon of fun for the entire family.
