Anyone who lives in or pays property taxes to Washington County is entitled to register for a free Washington County Library card. To register, all you have to do is present photo identification and proof of your current address.
Use your library card to check out books, audio books on cassette tape or compact disc, music CDs, DVDs, videocassettes, magazines and more. R.H. Stafford Branch Library has more than 160,000 items in its collection. The library also offers free Wireless internet connections.
Business hours are Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thirty-two workstations at provide Internet access to the public. A library card is all that is needed. Customers can produce documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Users can copy their documents to floppy discs, or pay 10 cents per page for printing.
All Washington County Branch Libraries make available “electronic reference titles” via the Internet. All of the electronic reference titles are available inside the library and many can be accessed from home using the library’s Web site (Google: Washington County Library, Woodbury).
The Web site also allows you to do library business from home. You can search the library’s catalog, request library materials, renew library materials, join an online book club, register for a library card, ask a reference question, or find library hours and locations.
Parents are invited to bring young children preschool through kindergarten age to story times presented each week at R.H. Stafford Branch Library. Storytime is held nearly every day of the week. Check the “storytime” link on the library’s Web site for more information.
During the summer months, teenagers and grade-schoolers can take advantage of summer reading programs that feature drawings for prizes, giveaways and special entertainment.
