Coleman is back from Iraq

Specialist Donald E. Coleman returned to Fort Hood, Texas April 25 concluding deployment of the 4-227 Aviation Reconnaissance Brigade of the First Cavalry. He served six months at Camp Taji, Iraq and six months with the First Cavalry Task Force at Al Asad, Iraq as an Apache mechanic.

Coleman earned five “Commander Coins,” one of which was presented to him by Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also earned The Army Achievement Medal and First Cavalry spurs. He was honored by Senator Al Franken, with a flag flown over the nation’s Capitol, Aug. 10, 2009, and presented a flag from his company commander flown over Iraq in one of the company’s Apaches.

He will be in Minnesota on leave May 10 – 23.

Coleman is the son of Barbara and Steven Fenton of Woodbury.
