Hanson – Mortel

Heather Hanson and Kory Mortel were married Friday, July 31, 2009 in a ceremony at the Church of St. Thomas More, St. Paul. Father Joseph Weiss officiated.

Members of the bridal party included matron of honor Melissa Hanson, sister in law of the bride; maid of honor Breanne Nelson, friend of the bride; bridesmaids: Missy Hanson, sister in law of the bride; Sara Soma, sister of the groom; Dana Dvorak, sister of the groom; Stephanie Briggs, friend of the bride; Heather Novalany, friend of the bride; junior bridesmaids: Mikayla Hanson, niece of the bride; Kylie Hanson, niece of the bride; and flower girl Abby Hanson, niece of the bride.

Best men were Mark Abdel, friend of the groom and Dave Olson, friend of the groom; groomsmen were: Todd Hanson, brother of the bride; Jeff Hanson, brother of the bride; John Soma, brother in law of the groom; Jesse Dvorak, brother in law of the groom; Jim Tobritzhofer, friend of the groom; ring bearers Braden Hanson, nephew of the bride and Cody Dvorak, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Eric Lauer, cousin of the bride; Brad Sanders, cousin of the groom; Bob McDonald, friend of the couple; John Shaffner, friend of the couple; Alex Hanson, nephew of the bride.

Heather earned a BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Stout and is currently in her second year of a MA and ED.S graduate program for school psychology at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. She is employed as a behavior specialist for the North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale School District. She is the daughter of Donald Hanson of Cottage Grove.

Kory earned a BA in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Stout and is employed as a Financial Analyst for Alliance Bank of St. Paul. He is the son of Charles and Marsha Mortel of Cottage Grove.

The couple resides in Woodbury.
