Organizers for the Relay For Life of South Washington County will host a team meeting 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22 at East Ridge High School.
The meeting is for existing teams and those interested in forming teams to obtain information about team development, fundraising opportunities, as well as cancer prevention initiatives.
The Relay for Life is an annual event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and empower participants to fight back against a disease that takes so much from so many. The event also raises money for cancer research and support.
This year the Cottage Grove and Woodbury events have teamed up to offer a Relay for Life of South Washington County, which will take place Friday, June 4 at East Ridge High School.
The organization has set a goal of organizing 90 teams to raise at least $260,000.
