About 200 Minnesota Army National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division soldiers will return to armories in Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights and Stillwater around 7 p.m.
Members of the Washington County and Woodbury Yellow Ribbon Network have been asking the community to attend the homecoming ceremonies to show their support for the soldiers and their families. The returning soldiers are returning home in four waves over a month.
Since May 2009, the Red Bulls have provided command and control of military forces in the southern third of Iraq.
Most of their operations have been headquartered at a U.S. military base in the city of Basra.
More than 1,200 citizen soldiers from throughout the state make up the Red Bulls 34th Infantry Division. More than a dozen are from Woodbury.
Last weekend the first of four waves of the returning Red Bulls arrived in Minnesota. The troops are first scheduled to be flown to Fort Lewis, Wash. and then to the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.
