Caines named Raptor boys lacrosse coach
Woodbury resident is Minnesota Swarm assistant coach and former professional player.
East Ridge announced the hiring of Aime Caines as the first head coach of the East Ridge/Park cooperative boys lacrosse team on Wednesday afternoon.
"Aime has dynamic experience as both a coach and player," noted an ERHS press release on the hiring.
Caines, a Woodbury resident, is currently an assistant coach for the Minnesota Swarm professional indoor lacrosse team and has also served as an assistant for the University of Minnesota lacrosse team and has coached the Minneapolis Warriors Homegrown Lacrosse high school summer league.
The new East Ridge/Park coach is a Canadian native and played professionally for three teams in the National Lacrosse League.
Caines assumes control of the new program that begins play this spring. Park had previously played boys lacrosse in a co-op with Woodbury High School and initial plans had players from PHS, WHS and ERHS all together on one unified District 833 team — however, that proposal was quashed by the Minnesota State High School League in the fall.
As approved by the MSHSL, Park exchanges its co-op with Woodbury for one with East Ridge, while the Royals will play as a solo team.
Members of the Wolfpack and Raptor lacrosse community are invited to attend a "Meet and Greet" with Caines on Monday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at East Ridge.
