Vitamin therapy in treating mental illness

Trinity Presbyterian Church will host Laura McDaniel, registered nurse, as she presents “Vitamin Therapy in treating Mental Illness,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at the church, 2125 Tower Drive, Woodbury. The event is open to the public. Registration is not required for the free event.

Discussion will feature “specific nutritional studies that indicate that combining supplements with medications can be effective and can often lessen the ill side effects.”

Participants will learn about research on Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, Vitamin D, B12 and lithium orotate, as well as common dietary interventions.

McDaniel worked at The Pfeiffer Treatment Center where she trained physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in biomedical therapies.
