The New Life Academy boys basketball team claimed its first victory of the season on Tuesday night with a 78-57 victory against Christ's Household of Faith on the Curt Wetsel Court at NLA.

Forward Cody Linton logged a game-high 20 points in the victory, with Joe Mann and Josh Park each scoring 13 points and Kory Kiekhofer chipping in 12 points.

The New Life boys improved to 1-3 on the year — a record they now share with the Lady Eagles, who fell, 61-41, at Minnehaha Academy on Tuesday.

Co-captains Cara Lutes and Rebekah Schmidt paced the NLA girls with 14 and 11 points, respectively, but no other Eagles' player mustered more than six points as the two-time defending section champions lost their third-straight contest.

Both the NLA boys and girls clubs pay host to Barnum on Tuesday, Dec. 22 in their final games before Christmas. The Eagles boys first travel to play PACT Charter on Friday.
