Woodbury rebounded from their first loss of the season to defeat Northfield, 1-0, in the third-place game at the Class AA State Boys Soccer Tournament on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Eric Miller headed home the games lone goal — assisted by defender Alex Young — in the 55th minute of play. It was all the Royals would get despite firing 17 shots on the Raiders net and it would be enough for the victory.

WHS seniors Jon Harder and Peter Runquist evenly split goalkeeping duties for the Royals, with each making two saves in their 40 minutes of work to earn a shared shutout. Harder worked the first half, Runquist the second.

Woodbury finishes the season with a 16-1-3 record.
