Letter: Adou looking for support in Nov. 3 election
Our district has made progress in the past four years by making decisions that support student achievement and opportunities based on best practices and educational research. I am asking for your support to be re-elected to our school board. During my first term on the board, I drew on the knowledge that I had gained during my 19 years of volunteer service to our school district and community. I have a strong commitment and dedication to public education, and I have shown that I am willing to dedicate the time necessary to do this difficult job. I know how the school district works, and most importantly, how to advocate for all children through committee work, working to pass referendums and by legislative lobbying.
The board and the superintendent work hand-in-hand to set direction, policies and priorities for the school district. Through this work, I believe that the school board has a critical role that I will continue to honor. We must continue to raise academic expectations for all students.
I will continue to work for: Curriculum that prepares all students for post- secondary education; relevant professional development; a continued belief in business-school partnerships; more choice within our schools such as Spanish Immersion, Valley Crossing and Gateway; Advanced Placement, College in the Schools, Project Lead the Way and soon International Baccalaureate.
I’m asking for your vote on Nov. 3 to help re-elect me to District 833 School Board.
