Letter: Kemper looks for support in Nov. 3 election
I believe the greatest strength of South Washington County Schools is the great sense of community among teachers and parents. I want to encourage the commitment among all members of our district to speak. I believe that respectful communication is essential among all of our members. People want to know where the district is going and it helps our school district grow if parents, teachers and even students know which direction our school district is progressing. I think it is wonderful the communication that has come out of all of our schools alerting parents to the changes that have occurred so far this year, and I believe this is a trend that needs to be continued. There really is an effective collaboration occurring within the district, and that is what encouraged me to run for school board — I wanted to be an active participant and continue on with this tradition of excellence.
I believe the greatest weakness of South Washington County Schools is that there seems to be a breakdown of academic progress within a couple of academic institutions located within our district. I would like to see some more resources brought in to aid these educators responsible for these students and give them the opportunity to make progress toward the goal our district has for the remainder of the district. My thoughts are that no child should be excluded from the potential to achieve excellence and that is my goal for South Washington County Schools.
