District 833 cross-country meet postponed
Early snows cause annual run for children in grades 3-6 to be pushed back a week in hopes of better conditions.
Due to early season snows and unexpectedly low temperatures, the annual District 833 Cross-Country Meet for grades 3-6, originally scheduled to be hosted at Bailey Elementary School in Woodbury on Tuesday Oct. 13, has been postponed a week until Oct. 22.
Other than the postponement, the event's schedule remains unchanged, as follows:
Children in grades 3-4 will run together starting at 4:15 p.m. on the 1 1/2-mile course at Bailey and grades 5-6 will run at 4:45 p.m.
Check-in begins at 3:40 p.m. and closes at 4:10 p.m. for all grades. There will be participation ribbons given to all runners, and the top ten finishers in each grade level for both boys and girls will receive a special ribbon.
Cost for the event is two dollars (cash preferred) to cover the cost of ribbons and plaques.
Children should see their physical education teacher for a permission slip or contact Jim Scott at Bailey (651) 768-4895.
