Woodbury’s campaign to become a “Yellow Ribbon City” and assist the families of soldiers serving overseas begins tonight.
A kickoff event is planned for 7 p.m. at East Ridge High School. The public is invited.
The “Yellow Ribbon” is a designation given cities with an established network of resources – volunteers, neighbors, businesses and others – who can help a military family during a soldier’s deployment.
Woodbury, like other Minnesota cities, is seeking the designation, a Minnesota National Guard initiative. So far only Farmington has been named a “Yellow Ribbon City.”
