All three District 833 football teams fall in a rough night for South Washington County.

None of the three District 833 football teams managed to pull off a victory on Friday night in their respective contests against Suburban East Conference opponents.

Falling in the early matchup of the evening (a 5 p.m. start due to Rosh Hashanah) was Woodbury, which dropped its first game of the year in lopsided fashion, 35-7, at Mounds View.

The Royals came into the game 2-0 on the season, but fell behind 35-0 before a touchdown in the closing seconds of running time prevented the shutout in the northern metro in what still stung as a 28-point loss for the Blue and White.

Back in Woodbury, East Ridge held a fourth-quarter lead on visiting White Bear Lake in its bid for a first-ever program victory, but could not stem the tide against two late scores on account of the visitors in a 35-24 loss to drop the Raptors to 0-3 on the season.

Also falling to 0-3 in 2009 was Park, who fell to visiting Hastings, 14-7, at Wolfpack Stadium in Cottage Grove after suffering two turnovers deep in Raiders territory allowing for the one-score visitor victory.
