Got trash? City considers collection changesWoodbury City Council backs change to often-violated garbage collection ordinance, but rejects raising hauler license fees and limiting residential hauling licenses.

Ever leave your garbage can at the curb the night before trash collection?
That’s a violation of Woodbury city ordinance – but perhaps not for long.
City council members on Wednesday supported a recommended change to the solid waste ordinance that would allow residents to leave trash and recycling containers curbside the night before collection. They said many residents probably do that already, even if it is in violation of an ordinance requiring that containers only be placed at the curb on collection day.
But council members oppose other proposed solid waste changes, including a plan to limit residential hauling licenses at the current seven and another proposal to change how haulers are charged for their licenses.
The council will take final action on solid waste ordinance changes later this fall.
