Council to study budget tonight; public invited
By: Scott Wente, Woodbury Bulletin
Woodbury City Council members will immerse themselves in numbers tonight when they start analyzing a 2010 budget plan.
City administrator Clint Gridley and finance officials propose an annual budget of $75.8 million, including a $27.4 million property tax levy. The budget suggests no city levy change to the average value home.
The proposal would fund four new police officers and an additional public works position, but calls for a small cut in the overall city workforce. City employees would see a wage freeze.
Council members will review the budget plan at 4 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public. The council is scheduled to take public comments at 8:35 p.m.
