Emily Carl of Woodbury was named to the Dean’s List in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa for having earned a 3.5 grade point average during the spring semester 2009, recognizing the “hard work and dedication” it takes to achieve the accomplishment.
Blake Nelson of Woodbury was named to the third trimester, ninth grade “A” Honor Roll at Woodbury Junior High School.

The following students have been named to the Dean’s List at Macalester College, St. Paul for academic achievement during the 2008 – 09 spring semester:
Benjamin Knurr, son of Joan Kunz of Woodbury and Rick Knurr of St. Paul. He was a senior at the college last spring and is a graduate of Stillwater Area High School
Elizabeth Eccher, the daughter of David and Mary Eccher of Woodbury. She was a sophomore at the college last spring and is a graduate of Hill-Murray School.
To be eligible for the list a student must have been registered as a full-time, degree-seeking student, and have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.75
Brianna Peikert of Woodbury was the recipient of a 2009 Lake Elmo VFW Irrevocable Trust Fund scholarship award. She is a Stillwater Area High School graduate.
The following students from Woodbury are currently employed through the Cooperative Education Program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wis. The program integrates college studies with work experience in industry, business, government or public service.
Thomas Black, a hotel, restaurant and tourism management major, will be a cook for Restaurants Unlimited/ Kincaid’s, Seattle, Wash.; Tyler Paape, a hotel restaurant and tourism management major, will hold a sales and catering co-op position at the Saint Paul Hotel; Matt Pugmire, an art-industrial design major, will hold a new ventures design co-op position at Whiteboard Product Solutions, Woodbury; and Dain Lindeman, a hotel restaurant and tourism management major, will hold a front of house co-op position at Entertainment Cruises, Chicago, Ill.
Woodbury residents planning to attend Saint John’s University, Collegeville, Minn. For the 2009 – 10 academic year include: Benjamin Brummer, son of Betsy and Henry Brummer; Spencer Gurrola, son of Susan and Robert Gurrola; Kevin Hamm, son of Jim and Bonnie Hamm; Daniel Owens, son of John and Lori Owens; and David Christensen, son of Jim and Rose Christensen.
