Aviation Day at Lake Elmo airport
Planes are the stars of pancake breakfast
Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 54 will sponsor “Aviation Day,” a fly-in/drive-in pancake breakfast and aircraft display on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 7 a.m. to noon at Valter’s Aviation at the Lake Elmo Airport, 3275 Manning Avenue N., Lake Elmo, approximately 4 miles north of I-94.
The event will include a free static display of modern, vintage, experimental, and ultra-light aircraft as well as radio controlled models, children’s activities, and educational programs. The display is free.
The cost for the all you can eat breakfast of pancakes, sausages, coffee, milk, and juice, had not been finalized at press time but was expected to be about $6 for adults, $4 for children, and free for children under age 6. Proceeds benefit the Chapter 54 Education and scholarship fund.
Chapter 54 is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of general aviation safety through charitable, scientific, and educational activities. Anyone interested in learning about general aviation is invited to attend.
