City to spell out road projects

City plans meetings on stimulus-backed road work

By: Scott Wente, Woodbury Bulletin

Local residents can learn tonight about planned street-improvement projects along three major Woodbury roads.

City officials will discuss proposed projects along Lake Road, Pioneer Drive and Weir Drive at public informational meetings at City Hall.

The projects include street resurfacing and utility improvements; they are planned for the 2010 construction season. The city secured federal economic stimulus funds to help pay for the projects.

The Lake Road project will be discussed at 6 p.m. A meeting about the Pioneer Drive and Weir Drive projects will follow at 7:30 p.m.

A public improvement hearing targeted to local residents and business owners who could be assessed to help pay for the projects is scheduled for Sept. 9. The city will notify those who could be impacted ahead of that meeting.
