Food stand sales will benefit military

Fundraiser benefiting overseas troops will be held Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2.

A fundraiser benefiting overseas military troops will be held at Von Hanson’s Meats, 9040 Inwood Avenue S., Cottage Grove, Friday, July 31, 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“A Touch of Home” (ATOH) will be selling hot dogs, $1.50; bratwurst, $2.50; hamburgers and cheeseburgers, $3.50; bbq pork and beef brisket, $4. Pop, chips and water will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds help ATOH cover the monthly costs of the weekly to semi-weekly mailings of packages, cards and letters to troops providing much needed support, prayer and comfort for Marine, Air Force, Army and Navy personnel deployed in combat zones.

Information about past recipients, adding a name to the list of military recipients, and becoming involved with ATOH, will be available at the event.

A ministry of Crossoads Church, Woodbury, A Touch of Home accepts contributions of packaged cookies, snack bars, popcorn, beef jerky, candies, T-shirts, disposable cameras, faith-based books, appropriate current magazines, word search, Sudoku puzzles and writing materials.

Donations will be accepted at the fundraising event or may be delivered to the church, 5900 Woodbury Drive, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
