Letters to the Editor for July 29
Thank you to the patriots; Take time to safe a life
Thank you to the patriots
This weekend, I was honored to attend the funeral of a fallen hero from Woodbury.
The outpouring of support from the community was moving, and Iām sure it was a great comfort to the loved ones left behind.
I want to thank everyone who lined the streets of Radio Drive and Valley Creek Road, the Patriot Guard members who lined the way to King of Kings Church and Fort Snelling with flags, and the local police and state troopers who held traffic for the large funeral procession.
To everyone who took time out of their day to honor our fallen heroes ā Daniel Drevnick, James Wertish and Carlos Wilcox ā in Woodbury, as well as Olivia and Cottage Grove; thank you. These young men heard the call to defend and protect and gave the greatest sacrifice.
It was humbling to see their communities remind us that America respects and honors our uniformed men and women. Thank you for that reminder.
May God continue to bless this great nation with patriots like you.

Take time to save a life
You may not be aware that you can save a life right on Radio Drive. The Memorial Blood Centers now accepts blood donations at 1625 Radio Drive six days a week. Right in our community, you can spend a few minutes and make a contribution to the survival of another person.
The staff at the Woodbury site of Memorial Blood Center has been gracious, professional and personable every time I have visited them. For those of you who have only donated blood in a bus or a church basement you will be impressed with how much more comfortable it is to make your donation in a medical building. While I donate blood to save the lives of people in need, I have to admit that the large selection of cookies and beverages at the blood center makes it a little more fun.
If you donate in the summer when injuries are up and regular donors are out of town, your gift will be appreciated even more. To reach Memorial Blood Centers in Woodbury simply call (651) 332-7000 or go to their website at www.memorialbloodcenter.org. Take advantage of the opportunity to save a life without leaving town.
