City to help lead Tamarack swamp tour Thursday, July 16
The city of Woodbury is helping to lead a tour of the Tamarack Swamp Nature Preserve Thursday, July 16.
Tamarack Swamp Nature Preserve, located directly north of Valley Creek Road off Tower Drive in Woodbury, is a Twin Cities jewel with more than 150 acres providing the area with a rare ecosystem that includes high plant and animal diversity.
The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District and the City of Woodbury will lead a tour along some of the boardwalk and trails to identify plants and celebrate the seasonal beauty of the park on Thursday, July 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Interested individuals should meet at the preserve parking lot at 1825 Tower Drive at 6:30 p.m. The tour leaves for the boardwalk at 6:40 p.m. and returns to the parking lot by 8:30 p.m. Hand-outs and light refreshments will be provided.
