Governor, community give troops a rounding send off

Gov. Tim Pawlenty appeared at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena Friday to give troops from Cottage Grove-based 204th Area Support Medical Company encouragement at a ceremony marking their deployment.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty appeared at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena Friday to give troops from Cottage Grove-based 204th Area Support Medical Company encouragement at a ceremony marking their deployment.

Then, the public lined 80th Street to cheer on the soldiers and their families as they traveled to the Cottage Grove National Guard Armory for a picnic.

Approximately half the members of the 204th are residents of south Washington and Dakota counties.
