Veterans with disabilities will be offered park vehicle permits

Any veteran who has a total and permanent service-connected disability will be eligible to receive a free Washington County annual vehicle park permit, after approval by the Washington County Board of Commissioners June 23.

The program follows a similar program offered by the Minnesota State Park system. It would also be open to military personnel on leave and those visiting within 90 days of leaving active service.

The permit is valid for 12 months from the time of issue and may be obtained by showing proper identification to the park attendant. The program would be in effect from July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010.
