He caught a massive muskie
Woodbury resident Dan Starken tangled with a big muskie June 17 on White Bear Lake.

Fishing in a small boat with Dave Kotilinek of White Bear, the pair was out for about three hours and using 10 – 12 pound line when the fish struck. Amazed they were able to get the catch into the boat, they measured it along the net and estimated it to be between 50-52 inches long before returning it to the lake.
An estimated weight for a fish of that length, according to the website muskie.outdoorsfirst.com, is 35 – 40 pounds.
