The District 833 School Board has approved the hiring of Jason Schultz as the next activities director at Woodbury High School.
Schultz is currently the athletics and activities director at Chippewa Falls High School in Chippewa Falls, Wis.
He is a certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Science in Athletic Administration from Louisiana State University.
Additionally, he holds an Educational Specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas in Educational Leadership and Administration and K-12 Principal Licensure.
Prior to becoming the AD at Chippewa Falls, he was a principal intern at Zimmerman, Minn. and also taught at the Minnesota School of Business in Richfield.
As stated in his application letter, Schultz “believes that athletics and activities are vitally important to the success of students at the secondary level. (He believes) that activities provide an extension of the classroom and that coaches should see themselves as teachers when working to implement strategies and techniques.”
Schultz was involved in music and speech activities along with wrestling for the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
"We are excited to have Mr. Schultz join the administrative team at Woodbury High School and look forward to his attention to detail and his love of both athletics and the arts," said WHS principal Linda Plante.
Schultz replaces John Soma, who has accepted a position with another school district.
