Appointments made to joint airport zoning board

The Washington County Board of Commissioners met a request by the Metropolitan Airports Commission by appointing two members to a Joint Airport Zoning Board to implement Airport Safety Zoning at the Lake Elmo Airport.

The board appointed Dennis O’Donnell, a senior planner for Washington County, and former county commissioner Dick Stafford of Woodbury to the zoning board.

The zoning board will deal with land use and height restrictions in the vicinity of the airport. The airports commission is also asking for representatives from other adjacent communities.
