American Public Media’s Performance Today, the Poetry Foundation and the White Pine Festival are collaborating to present the Miró Quartet, a string ensemble, and poet Matthea Harvey in a performance of classical music and poetry on 4 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 Fourth Street N., Stillwater.
The Miró Quartet and Harvey close the White Pine Festival with a performance that will interweave music and poetry in different ways and feature a debut of Harvey’s new multi-part work.
Tickets to the performance are $15 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased at www.whitepinefestival.org or by calling (800) 838-3006.
The performance is made possible by the Poetry Radio Project, a collaboration between the Poetry Foundation and American Public Media.
The White Pine Festival is an annual series of “world-class artistic and intellectual events set amid the natural beauty of Stillwater and Hudson, Wis,” stated a press release regarding the event.
The third annual festival will take place June 17 to 21.
The White Pine Festival explores ideas from a range of artistic and intellectual perspectives, including music, literature, visual art, history, poetry, nature, science and philosophy.
Festival participants are encouraged to view art and the world in new ways and to approach the task with the vitality, humor and candor one finds in conversations among close friends.
