The spring sports season in the Woodbury area officially came to an end on Saturday night as New Life Academy's Mitch Peterson finished up a seventh-place run in the 300-meter hurdles at the State Class A Track and Field Meet at Hamline University.

The senior ran through the rain to take a time of 42.52 and became the second Eagles' runner of the day to step onto the medal stand.

A half-hour earlier, Peterson's classmate, Rob LeMay, put the finishing touch on his high-school career with a fourth-place run in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.29 seconds on the soggy track.

New Life's lone girls qualifier, Adrea Wallert, placed 13th in the shot put with a hurl of 33 feet, 8.5 inches.
