Amateur talent show auditions

Auditions are scheduled July 7, 8 and 13 for the seventh annual “Kickoff to Lumberjack Days Amateur Talent Show.” The “Kickoff” festivities begin at 4:30 p.m.

It’s time to get out the sheet music, polish your dancing shoes and tune up the ukulele.

Auditions are scheduled July 7, 8 and 13 for the seventh annual “Kickoff to Lumberjack Days Amateur Talent Show.” The “Kickoff” festivities begin at 4:30 p.m.

The show will be performed Wednesday, July 22 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Washington County Historic Courthouse, 101 W. Pine Street in Stillwater.

Auditions by type of performance are at the Historic Courthouse on the following dates with check-in beginning at 6 p.m. and auditions starting at 7 p.m. Auditions are on a first-come, first served basis.

Tuesday, July 7 and Monday, July 13 auditions will be held for all categories, except bands; Wednesday, July 8 auditions are for bands only.

Participants must audition in their performance attire and bring their own accompaniment, IPod or CD. A CD player, IPod cable, microphone and keyboard will be provided. Maximum group size is eight.

Winners of the talent show receive cash prizes donated by the Lumberjack Days Festival Association and also will have an opportunity to perform at Summer Tuesdays in downtown Stillwater.

In addition to the talent show, the kickoff features the Fantasy Corral Petting Zoo, children’s games and activities, food, penny candy and 25-cent root beer floats and frozen novelties.

The kickoff event is free and open to the public. If there is inclement weather, the talent show will be inside the courthouse.
