It was an offer too good to pass up: sign up for eStatements and PCU will give you $5 and donate another $5 to the Arbor Day Foundation.
More than 775 PCU members embraced this opportunity to help the environment during the credit union’s recent “eStatements” promotion.
As a result, PCU recently presented a check for $3,875 to the Arbor Day Foundation’s Trees for America program, in which each dollar plants a tree in the nation’s forests.
“Members were excited to help regenerate U.S. forests while reducing paper waste by receiving their financial statements electronically,” said PCU President Russ Plunkett. “As part of PCU’s people helping people philosophy, we pride ourselves in supporting important local and national causes.”
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, many forests are still recovering from ravaging fires that have occurred in recent years.
In many areas, reforestation will be necessary to restore damaged forests to a healthy state.
Thanks to PCU’s donation, 3,875 more trees will be planted.
