County supports ‘Yellow Ribbon Network’

The Washington County Board of Commissioners voted April 21 to adopt a resolution of support for the Yellow Ribbon Network in Washington County.
Several community leaders from around Washington County have organized the group over the last several weeks.
The group has a goal to establish encourage communities and citizens to work together to support active duty military members and their families to lessen the burden while a family member is deployed.
According to organizers, the Yellow Ribbon Network will build on the existing strengths of cities, townships, schools, churches, community groups, businesses, and government agencies that are already providing support to service personnel and their families by adding to the community support and awareness for helping spouses and children.
Commissioner Gary Kriesel helped spur the effort recently with the departure of the National Guard group the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division.
