Push for the plume

The “Glam the Band” campaign for uniforms for the Marching Royals has achieved sufficient funding to-date to pay for the jackets and pants. This amounts to about two-thirds of the total cost for 150 official marching band uniforms.

The “Glam the Band” campaign for uniforms for the Woodbury High School Marching Royals has achieved sufficient funding to-date to pay for the jackets and pants.

This amounts to about two-thirds of the total cost for 150 official marching band uniforms.

The remaining third, or $20,000, will complete the purchase of the other uniform details such as the hats and plumes.

The Marching Royals hope to wear their new uniforms when they perform their half-time field show at the first home football game Sept. 11 against Park High.

To cap off the campaign, the Woodbury Royals Band Boosters Inc. has a full fundraising schedule for May.

• Lion's Garage Sale — Located at 2095 Cottage Grove Drive, the Boosters will have six garage stalls and more of gently used items for sale. Included in the sale will be a roll-top desk, designer clothing, antique furniture, a lawn tractor, toys, games, household items and much more.

May 7 set-up preview 3 to 7 p.m. May 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Linder's Flower Sales —Purchase spring blooms at any Twin City Linder's Flower Mart or the main store on Friday, May 8 through Monday, May 11 and Linder’s will donate 15 percent of the sale to the Marching Royals.

A Woodbury Band Booster coupon is required for the sale to be registered. Coupons can be found at the Booster website: www.royalsbandboosters.org.

• Kowalski’s Bagging — On Saturday, May 9, the Woodbury Marching Royals will be available at the Kowalski’s Market on Valley Creek Road to bag and carry out groceries. They may even play some tunes that day.

• Applebee's Flapjack Breakfast — Saturday May 16 is the day to enjoy a flapjack breakfast served to you by the Marching Royals.

Applebee’s at 10150 Hudson Road (next to WalMart) in Woodbury will host this event from 8 to 10 a.m.

Tickets will also be available at the door.
