Attention gardeners, wildflowers fans

Saturday, May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., marks the first “Wildflower Walk” through the woods of the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street in Hastings.

Saturday, May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., marks the first “Wildflower Walk” through the woods of the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street in Hastings.

The walk will be led by Dennis O'Melia, retired college biology professor .

This event is free and open to the public.

Gardeners are invited to arrive May 9 at 8 a.m. for raking, restoring a stone wall, preparing garden beds and transplanting.

Another opportunity will be Tuesday, May 19, 9 to 11 a.m., for preparing garden beds, transplanting and planting.
