For all those undiscovered musicians at Woodbury High School, there may be hope.
Dan West of Woodbury and his brother Matt of Eagan are currently in the process of launching a website similar to YouTube or Hulu that will air online shows about motorcycles. They are looking for a talented band to record the music for their shows.
The website, motorcycleunderground.com will feature motorcycle safety gear, new products, trip documentaries, motorcycle maintenance and event overviews.
The brothers are soliciting bands because they want to set themselves apart from generic “elevator music.”
“We are trying to be more professional and unique,” he said.
They decided to solicit at WHS because they are both graduates of the school.
Dan and Matt will pay for whichever band they pick to record a free demo CD at a music college. The music would be used on the show and the demo CD would be sold on the Web site as well.
Dan said they are ideally looking for a band with a rock, heavy metal or alternative style that includes; drums, guitar, preferably electric, and a singer.
One or more bands could be chosen based on the quality, style and variety of music. West said he hopes to have a band chosen as soon as possible and the first band with the right sound will get the job.
“We need hardcore motorcycle music,” he said. “But we are keeping our options open, we will take what we can get.”
