Olympians take second at state

This year’s Lake Junior High School Science Olympiad team took second place at the Saturday, March 7 Minnesota Science Olympiad, Division B championships held at the University of St. Thomas.

After taking third place last year, this year’s Lake Junior High School Science Olympiad team was able to claim second place in a field of 24 teams at the Saturday, March 7 Minnesota Science Olympiad, Division B championships held at the University of St. Thomas.

Teachers and Olympiad coaches Kathryn Bartholomew and Sarah Smith helped celebrate the victories of: Pierce Jensen – top honors in Robocross; Jensen, Katie Argo, Azana Adefris and Cannon Hackett – first place in the Pentathalon; Eddie Liu and Alex Kim – second place in Dynamic Planet; Katie Brazier and Jon Tan – second place in Ecology; Victor Liu and Cannon Hackett – third place in Meteorology; Eddie Liu and Alex Kim – second place in Road Scholar; Jon Tan and Katie Brazier – fourth place for Physical Science Lab; Victor Liu and Josh Glendenning – fourth place for Reach for the Stars; and Eddie Liu and Alex Kim –fifth place in Fossils.
