Beginning in January 2009, the toddlers and preschoolers at Peace of Mind Early Education Center at Woodwinds have had one more thing to be excited about — the new climbing wall in the large muscle room.

Rock climbing is one of the fastest growing activities in the United States today. The proven health benefits associated with rock climbing are many. Climbing simultaneously develops coordination, strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness.

In addition to the physical health benefits associated with rock climbing, there are other important skills that can be learned. They include problem-solving, goal setting, perseverance, inner confidence, and patience.

The Peace of Mind at Woodwinds climbing wall measures eight-feet wide by five-feet high. From a toddler’s perspective, it’s very close to climbing a real mountain.

Peace of Mind at Woodwinds is part of the Peace of Mind Early Education Center and Footprints Academy located at 9025 Tamarack Road in Woodbury.

The mission of Peace of Mind Early Education Center is to provide quality, worry-free educational child care for the community’s children so that parents can achieve the ultimate goal — Peace of Mind.
