Woodbury’s new Staples store at Woodbury Marketplace, 9885 Hudson Place, officially opened earlier this week.

Staples, Inc. celebrated the opening of its first store in the city with a $15,000 grant from Staples Foundation for Learning to the PACER Center on Feb. 23.

Staples general manager Lynn Sandbeck joined Woodbury Mayor Bill Hargis and chief operating and development officer of the PACER Center Mary Schrock in a unique ribbon-shredding ceremony. Representatives from the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce were also on hand.

This donation will support “Project C3: Connecting Youth to Communities and Careers,” which enables local youth with disabilities to increase their career opportunities through internships. It’s a program that helps young adults develop job skills through database management, effective presentations and peer-to-peer mentoring.

“Staples is committed to building a better community in Woodbury by supporting organizations that help local youth succeed,” Sandbeck said. “Through this contribution from Staples Foundation for Learning we are helping the PACER Center enrich and expand educational opportunities for students in the area.”

The 20,000-square-foot Woodbury Staples store’s regular hours will be Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The store will employ approximately 20 full and part-time associates.
