Anyone planning on being part of a team for this year’s Relay For Life of Woodbury is encouraged to attend the “Team Kick-Off” on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Woodbury United Methodist Church.

Team information packets, planning updates, and on-line registration assistance will be available.

Relay For Life is Woodbury’s largest community fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission of bringing an end to cancer and it’s devastating effects.

Groups of eight to 15 people pitch campsites at Ojibway Park and take turns walking laps relay-style through the night.

Live entertainment, food, kids activities and a silent auction create a festive atmosphere.

The 2009 event will take place Friday and Saturday, June 19 and 20, from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. at Ojibway Park.

Mary LaPrairie, Michelle Alpers and Carmelo Cruz are co-chairing.

For more information, call LaPrairie at (651)730-4349, e-mail jbmslaps@yahoo.com or visit the Relay website at www.relayforlife.org/woodburymn.
