The Youth Service Bureau is seeking volunteers for the Woodbury, Stillwater and Cottage Grove Restorative Justice Program.

Restorative justice is a victim-centered response to crime where those directly affected by a crime – the victim, offender, their families and community representatives – are directly involved in dealing with the harm caused by the conduct.

Volunteers complete intensive training, then assist with a restorative conference, and when ready, take on key leadership for a conference. Scheduling is on a case by case basis. Sixteen hours of training is required along with a background check. Five hours is the average timeframe for a case.
