“Charlotte’s Web,” a musical adaptation of the beloved children’s book by E. B. White, will be presented by the Phipps Children’s Theater beginning Feb. 13 at the Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust Street, Hudson, Wis.
This musical adaptation is by the award-winning playwright Joseph Robinette, with music and lyrics by Charles Strouse.
It is a heartwarming tale of love and friendship between a pig named Wilbur, Fern, a strong-willed little girl, and Charlotte, the spider, who spins messages in her web to save the little pig’s life.
“Tiffany Fier, the scenic designer, has created a rustic home for a wise and compassionate spider and these entertaining farm animals, which are beautifully costumed by Linda Adorn,” director John H. Potter said.
“Charlotte’s Web” will run for 12 performances from Feb. 13 through March 1 on Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., as well as Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for students age 13 and older as well as seniors, and $15 for children 4 to 12 years old, with a $2 discount for the opening weekend. This show is not recommended for children under age four.
