The 2009 Woodbury Prayer Breakfast will focus on the transformation of the community through the power of prayer.
As it says in the song “God of this City,” organizers trust that “greater things are yet to come” for the city.
“The Woodbury Prayer Breakfast is an experience you will not forget" said Mary Giuliani Stephens, chair of the Woodbury Prayer Breakfast Committee.
"Joining together for prayer is a powerful way to transform our community while encouraging and uplifting those who attend. From business leaders to parents, students and those serving our country — there will be something meaningful for everyone."
This year’s event is set for 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5 at the Prom Center (I-94 at Radio Drive/Inwood).
Speakers, dignitaries, elected officials and spiritual leaders will offer prayers, testimonies and readings.
Individual tickets are $18.50 and tables of nine are $166.50.
Business sponsorships are available starting at $400. Individual sponsorships start at $100. Both include various forms of sponsor recognition.
The 2008 Prayer Breakfast brought a record number of community members with more than 700 people in attendance.
The Woodbury Prayer Breakfast is part of a larger national movement that is taking hold in hundreds of communities across the nation.
Modeled after the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., it is held the same time every year along with similar events at the state and local levels.
