Before the end of January, every student that is currently enrolled in District 833 will receive a letter sharing their assigned attendance boundary school for 2009-10.
The attendance boundary process finalized in April of 2008 was thorough and will help the district to ensure more efficient use of its facilities.
While the opportunity to request a different school through an intradistrict transfer is available, families should be aware in advance that this will be on a limited basis for the 2009-10 school year.
The District 833 School Board has adopted a no transfer rule for the 2009-10 school year for students in grades 9 to 12.
The only exception at the high school level is for those students currently in 11th grade on an intradistrict transfer. They will be allowed to remain as seniors at their current school.
Full details about the intradistrict transfer procedures are available on the district’s website at www.sowashco.k12.mn.us under ‘hot topics’ then ‘Transition to the Fall of 2009,’ with information and forms also available at all school offices.
The deadline for forms to be submitted is 4 p.m., Friday, March 27.
Questions should be directed to the Office of Student Information at (651) 458-6218.
