Letter: Life Care Center seeks support
After reading heated editorials over political views on abortion, it’s time to highlight an effort that will serve neighbors well and utilize the positive energy of our people.
After reading heated editorials over political views on abortion, it’s time to highlight an effort that will serve neighbors well and utilize the positive energy of our people.
As a new board member of the Woodbury Life Care Center, the editorials provided me with a strong and hopeful perspective on how vital our community can be to the issue of crisis pregnancies, especially in light of an estimated 686 abortions in recent years within the WLCC area.
With our center becoming a donor of needed services to youth and families, such as offering healthcare referrals, counseling services, education and a resource center, we can all feel confident and comfortable in rallying behind a healthy choice for unplanned pregnancies.
The choice is there regardless of public policy. Let’s help young men and women make the right decisions for themselves and others they affect along the way.
Their futures depend on competent and thoughtful outreach. Supporting the Woodbury Life Care Center is a positive contribution we can all be proud of-no matter our politics or personal positions.
I applaud our public for debating such an important issue as life and quality of life: our concerns are shared.
Now, let’s make sure those who are in need of counsel get the choices they deserve.
When approached by the Woodbury Life Care Center please consider volunteering, offering financial contributions and moral support.
We are all in this together and the task of promoting quality health for young adults, those expecting and their babies, requires an intimate commitment from each of us.
This kind of charity brings out the best in humanity. We appreciate your support and will continue to serve our patrons with compassion and honesty. Most importantly, together with your help, our programs will make their lives better and our communities stronger.
