School District 833 Office of Equity and Integration employee Warren Taylor and his wife Amy were approached by members of Red Rock Elemntary School in Woodbury who wanted to “adopt” his family for the holiday season. Amy had been diagnosed with cancer while pregnant with their second child.
Rather than accept the support for their family, Amy’s wish was to see if there might be another family or organization in need of support.
“We would be humbled to have our names and story attached to your students’ generosity and thoughtfulness in this manner,” said Warren Taylor.
To both honor Amy and support the Taylor family, the Red Rock Student Council asked the Red Rock community to help grant two wishes: to collect toys in honor of the Taylor family and to raise funds to support the Taylor Family directly.
Red Rock families generously donated 382 toys to “Toys for Tots” and raised more than $1,300 for the Taylor Family.
According to additional information provided by the school, Amy Taylor passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27. Further information about her is at www.caringbridge.org/visit/amytaylor. Donations benefiting the education of the couple’s children, daughter Isabella and son Arbor, may be sent to: Warren Taylor, P.O. Box #108, South St. Paul, MN 55075.
